I started fhwrdh.net in 2001, primarily to write the software underneath, then realized I needed some content :) Over the years, I’ve been involved in a couple of online communities that have provided topics. I’m in the process of digging up and restoring some of the lost archives from those days.
I’m currently based in Dublin, Ireland with my wife, and two children, affectionately referred to in this space as Jelly and Birdy. Facty is my best friend and partner in life. Jelly is the number one ranked foreign-born autistic video game champion in South County Dublin, under-12-division. Birdy is an artist, gourmand, poker player, evil genius and when, inspired, blogger.
Originally from California, I’ve lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland since 2006, when my employer relocated from Los Angeles and asked me to come long. We jumped at the chance to live abroad and show our children as much of the world as possible.
Professionally, I’ve been working as a Software Developer since 1997. After many years working primarily in Java and open source environments, today I work in .Net, with a focus on architecture and web applications. Despite this change, I will always have a place in my heart for Emacs, the command line, and scripting / dynamic languages.
Friends and I used to get together occasionally and make sound.
